Easier shaft handling and reduced operator injuries are the goal of Tidlandís newest generation of shafts and chucks.>
Camas, WA - Tidland, the world leader in slitting and winding technology, has announced a change to their line of shafts and chucks. Tidlandís newest shafts and chucks, coupled with solid engineering, material selection and years of industry experience, are the primary tools theyíve used to help converters meet their specific application ergonomic objectives.>
ìThis change was intiated by our customers, and weíve continued to develop the idea as we develop new products.î describes Sean Craig, Product Manager for Tidland Corporation, ìWeíve learned that a lot of converters want to make sure they operate a safe environment. The introduction of lightweight tools has helped converters to reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders, increase productivity, and reduce labor costs.î>
To initiate this change, Tidland introduced the new GX Ultra-Lightweight shaft. The lightest weight air shaft available for light to medium duty applications. Available for 3î and 6î core sizes, the GX shaft can be built with various configurations to fit virtually any application.>
Tidlandís existing line of Ultrashaft Composite shafts are now available with a partial or full outer sleeving. After a review of the application, Tidland engineers configure a shaft designed with only enough outer sleeving to protect the composite material, for optimum shaft strength and minimal weight. Force5 air chucks are the lightest on the market, providing an inexpensive conversion from 3î to 6î cores while maintaining the highest level of grip and ease of use.>
