Control of your Clutches & Brakes is automatic! This digital microprocessor controller has the simplicity of an analog interface through its potentiometer adjustments. The TRAC-3 is a powerful, affordable control that takes up little space.  It is designed for use with MAGPOWR magnetic particle clutches, brakes and load cells to achieve precise web tension control.  Use with unwind, rewind, or any intermediate tension zone in a web or single strand process.

The TRAC-3 can be installed inside the machine control enclosure. Screw-type terminals are provided for the connection of all inputs and outputs, including tension adjustment potentiometers and a tension meter. Calibration and setup adjustments are conveniently positioned on the control.

An adjustable soft start feature prevents web breaks during start up, even with a slack web. For unwind applications, an adjustable stop multiplier helps eliminate slack webs by increasing stopping torque automatically at the initiation of a machine stop. The adjustable taper tension feature eliminates crushed cores and telescoping rolls. The TRAC-3 can do all this without the use of additional sensors.

To operate the TRAC-3 control simply set the tension adjustment potentiometer to the desired level.  The Control compares the actual load cell signal to the desired level and makes the necessary adjustments.
