Powell River, B.C., January 16, 2001 - Pacifica Paper has installed an ESP - Electronic Slitter Positioning System from Tidland Corporation as part of a Beloit Super "L" slitter/rewinder. The rewinder will operate at 2575 fpm web speed, with a 312" web width capability, and have 14 slitting stations.

The Tidland ESP - Electronic Slitter Positioning system's easy-to-use computer controls provide superior positioning accuracy, to within .002". The ESP will reposition 14 slitting knifeholders in less than 30 seconds. By automating their knife setup, Pacifica Paper will improve an already efficient system, saving time between blade setup change.<
